Designing a visual appetizing look to my blog

Since I started my blog, it has annoyed me that I haven't found time to give the design a personal touch.
In this update I will explain how I designed my blog and more importantly why I did it the way I did.

If you've read my blog earlier, you know that I'm not exactly a media guru, but I really like coming up with the idea and even though my adobe skills are limited, I am not going to back down for a bit of photoshopping etc.

5. Trying to combine the my new QR skills with this result:

Before I get started here is a SS of my blog before I made any changes. Simple, functional, unoriginal and boring:

The wonders of QR codes design

In this post I will attempt to make a different and more appealing QR code linking to my blog.

About six month ago I was working with a Danish educational institution, making flyers, poster and signs directing young people to their facebook page. Back then we were suffering from high time pressure and even though I had read a bit about the options for pepping up the QR codes we unfortunately never got to try out the process.
So what better way to spend a late Saturday evening, than to test my skills. Perhaps I'm a master at it!?!
The test will show...

First I Google a few articles about the matter and find what I'm looking for at mashable.com.
It appears rather simple, if you know you're way around Photoshop, but the article mentions something about 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% error rate...?

Designing my @jonashgaard twitter account

Today I took a small step for mankind, but a big step for my own social media appearance!
Yes, you may already have guessed it reading the title ;)

I took a long needed look at the design of my twitter account and came to the conclusion that it was about time to pick up the pieces and redesign the old design.

I finally had some spare time and after browsing through the unlimited articles of the great wide web (See links below) I found had gathered enough inspiration and made enough sketches in Photoshop to get started.

The result you can see at www.twitter.com/jonashgaard and I will here try to give you a detailed explanation of my thoughts behind the design (yes I didn't just make it without having a plan... ;)

To new beginnings...or late ones

I have arrived in picturesque Salzburg, Austria, and are taken away with its beauty and friendly people!

Now I "just" have to find a job that supports and improves my interest in integrated marketing communication.

More to come soon!
